Disc Brake Conversion With Stock Wheels?
I recently bought a 69 K-10 Chevy, and I spent a few bucks getting the original 15” rally wheels powder-coated and had a new set of 31 x 10.5 tires mounted on them. I’m to the point where I need to get it a shop to get the brakes addressed. I’m fairly positive the drum brakes are shot, and I’d like to convert at least the fronts to discs.
I have done a bit of searching for kits online so that I can supply the parts, but I can only seem to find kits that state they don’t work with stock wheels. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on what I should be looking for? Posted via Mobile Device |

What does the barrel look like that goes over the brakes? Got a picture of the back side of your current wheels?

Re: Disc Brake Conversion With Stock Wheels?
I believe the "Rallye" wheels started in 1973 so that would have been disc brakes.

Re: Disc Brake Conversion With Stock Wheels?
It’s only the pre 71 drum brake steelies that cause issues.
Rally wheels are fine for disc brakes. |
