Windshield vendors
Anyone purchased a TF windshield lately? Wondering who has the quality glass, hopefully available, these days. I know a while back they were hard to find.
Thanks, Jim |
Re: Windshield vendors
I used Auto Metal Direct years ago. Looks like they have some in stock.
They are just up the road from me so it was convenient and easy to exchange which i found i had to do on some of their sheet metal. That more hit and miss with fitment. But the glass all windshield and doors worked great. This was 6 years ago. |

I went to the local auto glass shop, good prices and good service. I went with smoked glass all around

Re: Windshield vendors
Compare the price of buying it locally with the cost of buying it online and shipping costs.
Just price checking Summit shows a tinted OER windshield for 265.99 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/o...yABEgIl-fD_BwE Plus shipping by truck. |
Re: Windshield vendors
I like the local guys supply and install option. the 55-59 windshield is not a fun one to install and lots of guys break them when installing. have the glass shop do it but ask if they break it do you still buy it?

Re: Windshield vendors
Bought my glass about 5 years ago and just now installed it. https://www.autocityclassic.com/1955...959-chevrolet/
No issues with quality or fit except the small rear window rubber they provided was sloppy big. Had to replace with a Precision rubber that was a perfect fit. Used Precision in the front also and it worked great. As DSRaven said, have it done by someone who knows what they are doing. |
