Washer Motor Troubles - Where is the solenoid?

Trying to trouble shoot my washer switch so I can run an auxiliary pump but activate it using the factory wiper switch.

I can hear the solenoid actuating but want to replace it while I have the dash open. Where is it? Please don't tell me its buried inside the wiper motor and non replaceable?

The entire washer pump, solenoid and all, is mounted on the wiper motor.. It's not "buried inside" the motor.. It's mounted to the outside of the motor, located under a black plastic cover.. There are 5 wires plugged into the motor, 2 pairs and a single black wire.. The pair beside the single controls the motor.. The other pair controls the pump.. Disconnect that pair and connect the wires from your remote washer pump to them...

Wire color and function can be gleaned from the wiring diagram.

In case you want to keep to "as designed", the complete pump assembly is available from various vendors.

Is there a way to swap the the solenoid without replacing the whole pump and motor, its crazy expensive!

My last sentence says it all.. The solenoid in not available separate.. The only "path" is install a repair kit in the pump or replace the pump/solenoid assembly. Neither approach requires motor replacement. When you activate the pump, if it clicks, the solenoid is good.. You'll need to repair or replace the pump..

Go this site.. They have everything you need..
