Adel clamp tool you don't need

I can't see too many of us buying this thing, BUT if I had a bunch of these to do in tight quarters, I could see myself cobbling something together based on this.
Hope this helps http://voristool.com/ |
Re: Adel clamp tool you don't need
99.9% of the time, Adele clamps are fastened to another surface, i mean that's the whole point of an Adele clamp. This little gadget doesn't address that issue, it simply bolts 2 clamps together and leaves them hanging out in space.
Interesting business model he has there, selling a $185 dollar solution to a problem no one has. |
Re: Adel clamp tool you don't need
I'm glad it's not just me. I was thinking, "When in the world would I even use this thing?"
I mean, I used Adel clamps all over my Blazer, and it's hard for me to imagine an installation where using the tool wouldn't actually take more time. |
Re: Adel clamp tool you don't need
It anchors two clamps together and also to a nut below, but
...true, it's probably more useful for aircraft |
Re: Adel clamp tool you don't need
I'm nearly done now, but I could have used a tool with skinny jaws to reach in from "above" to get the screw in, hold the clamp closed, and retain the screw in place while I fumble inside the frame to get the nut on.
Clunky as it is for my application, this tool(or something like it) would provide some of that third hand capability. |

something like this would have helped. I could make this out of PCI filler panels in about 5m now that I've seen it, but couldn't have visualized it if my life depended on it ;-)
