2 piece driveline to 1 poece??
i'm buying a 67 lwb chevy trk, biult up motor and tranny, it has a 2 piece driveline w/ carrier bearing....can this be converted over to a 1 piece custom driveshaft with driveshaft loop installed, primary used for trophy class racing and street cruising....thanks, jim :bowtie: :burnout:

welcome to the board from daytona beach
you'll find that on a lwb truck the drive shaft is too long to have a 1piece unit but if you do a search there are places that build performance heavyduty ones |
Welcome from sunny central ohio.
There is nothing wrong with a properly assembled 2 pc shaft. I kne a guy running high 12's with a stock 2 pc in a 67 LWB. When he put slicks on it, the track made him install 2 safety loops. |
A neighbor of mine had a one pc. shaft done for his LWB '77 Chevy truck. The driveline shop said it HAD to be done in 4" material.
It's lasted fine behind his 454". |
i have got a 1 pice in my 71 lwb and have no probs with it at all

1 piece or 2
thanks for the input, the trk has a mild biult 350, 30 over, backed by a 400 turbo w/ shift kit and 3000 stall pushed by a 373 posi....runs decent, gonna try trophy class and maybe some bracket, who knows yet......i was just wondering if the drivelione would hold up with the 2 piece... i have no problem going to a 4" shaft if neccessary, lite wieght yet heavy duty....if anybody is interested, i can post specs of the motor.......we are just locals playing in springfield, mo.........me and the wife just wanna have fun!!!!!!!!!!!11
