I think you'll like the new carb and intake. When I slapped a new Edelbrock carb on mine, I didn't notice too much power improvement, but it sure ran a lot smoother and more reliably. You'll probably notice more improvements with the intake.

If you haven't already, a worthwhile upgrade is an HEI distributor. It's like night and day compared to the old points stuff.
