Yo! Y'all!
First of all, here's that new steel hood, installed and aligned. Came out great! Needs green paint,...
As I assembled it all, ran across a qustion in my own mind,...how to properly attach that long torque rod from the NP203,...BBZZZTT, wrong! The NP205 attaches to the frame via a mount (that was still in the flatbed).
Here's the two side by side,...NP203 rod on the left, the NP205 frame mount on the right:
My question to ALL of you is how could the crappy NP203 have a torque ROD (side of the NP203 to the rear of the block), and the NP205 require a true frame mount (from it's side to the frame with rubber bushings, etc,...) to deal with it's positional torque?!! I'll be running a high torque and HP 350V8, and TH400, so I KNOW I'll need to drill the frame and install the frame mount for the NP205, but how did GM get away with this flimsy torque rod for the NP203? Todd.
