I found that 1 tooth on the gear that is on the end of the cable is worth about 3 mph. So if your speedometer is off by 10 MPH than you would need a gear with 3 more teeth, slowing down the cable speed. That should bring it close to what it should be. Try a old tranny shop they probably have them laying around and wont charge you much if anything for one.
