Every club/ region seems to have their own ideas. What might work good on hard packed clay might not work on sandy loam. You have to run what works good on the tracks you pull on. As far as DOT tires go, TruXs STS or BFG All- Terrains are popular around here.

Very few guys run automatics anymore. A slipper clutch with custom gears in a SM465 4 speed, or better yet, quick change ProFab transfer case is the way to go. It allows you to run a "just right" ratio, and come out of the hole at the RPM you want for each different track condition/ sled setup.

I made a run with my buddys truck last Saturday. First time in about 6 years. far more power than I've had under foot... the 8,200 RPM ride was a blast
