Exactly my question from the beginning! It's not as if my hangers were unique, since the ones they modified and sent me were ones they got from a local (California) yard and not my originals. I suspect there's more to the story than they're willing to admit, but at this point I don't particularly care. I'd love to know the answer but I'm sure I never will.
