If all you need is the cab, look at big trucks of the same era. Usually the farmers stored them in the barn during winter so they were in better shape. Because of the tall tires and wheel, if sitting outside they are less likely to drop into the dirt and cause rusting. Plus you might need the bigger front fenders for your conversion.
