Timing chain replacement not done correctly = bent valve(s) either from the original tooth skip or being off when reinstalled = no compression. Been there done that on a Mazda that I "saved time" by not pulling the bottom timing cover. Check compression and look at the valves while rotating the engine. If you are lucky might just be a simple valve replacement and it did not mess up the seat or piston.
