I have the same assy manual and was looking to remove that entire cowl vent and then reinstall it if possible. Not sure about welding drilled out spot welds and what that would look like. I was hoping to get some feedback from EB about that removal and reinstallation process before I go and just drill the spots and remove it. all my other bodywork is almost complete, cab and bed are in primer now. will try to post some pic's of my project tomorrow.
