First question is how hard is it to rebuild a steering box?
Somewhere along the line I picked up that you have to change the steering shaft little joint thing to a u joint style one? I need to know which one because of the splines.
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

if you have never built a steering box-DON'T try it, you are risking your life if you do it incorrectly. it can/will lock up and you'll have no control. i've seen it happen, a kid tried rebuilding his 4x4 box and didn't get the little balls installed properly. it was fine going straight but when he came to a 90 degree turn in the road, he went straight. luckily he was going slow and didn't get hurt.
