with rope? yes.....people or equip? no.......
It is
always used together with a pulley (block) ....this device is attached to something solid at or near the ground, rope is wrapped in coils 1-4 around the device depending on the weight of the load to be lowered, then up and through the pulley and back down to the load.
It is
always used outdoors and can handle loads over 1000 lbs. Used only by professionals in a certain industry.
