Hello,and welcome to the site. That sounds like just the kind of truck I like. The kind of truck that gave me the bug years ago,when out camping/exploring. You will only get so much info from the VIN. Does it not have the SPID (options list) on the inside of the glovebox door? If it is,is it legible? If your VIN starts with KE1 then it's a factory 4wd V8 1/2t,which would have been a 307/3spd standard. The NP465 would be an option as well as the 350. Does the motor look like it's been in there forever? Pictures may show if it's possibly a swap. The transfer case will be a NP205. So,you have a very good drivetrain. The front Dana44 axle will be the first year open knuckle and the last drum brake. The rear is a 12-bolt Corporate axle.
