if i had to guess i would say to just use the new pieces you recieved. with the new ones, one has right hand thread, and the other has left hand thread, that way when you get an alignemt, all that has to be adjusted is that center piece. turn it one way, and they will shorten. turn it the other, and they will lengthen. it doesnt appear that there would be a chance of them shortening or lengthening on there own through vibration or anything like that.
