TPI Swap Fan relay question

I am just wrapping up my TPI swap onto my 327, we had it running earlier today, but noticed an oil leak from somewhere ugly up in the back of the block area. I will post some pictures relatively soon, and a parts list to help out those who are interested in doing the same swap. That wasn't the only issue though. I bought an aftermarket harness from fuelinjectionconnection.com out of Colorado and wired up the dark green with white stripe output wire for the fan to a bosch relay as a person normally would. Dark Green- 86 Trigger,Output Power to fan- 87 ,Ground- 85, Power from Battery 30. However my fan doesn't turn on when I am higher than the temps my guy programmed into my ecm. I know my fan works and that I have power to the relay. Any ideas ? Would having the ground for the relay and the ground for the fan on the same bolt affect this ? I had a datalogging system hooked up to this on my laptop and it claims the ECM is sending the signal to turn the fans on as well.
Thanks.
Ryan
