You would probably have to really mis-match parts to get numbers this low. I have been studying the crap out of the 496 builds and can't believe what I am seeing. Car Craft did a cylinder head shootout on a very mild 496 (little 274 with .555 roller cam). They decided to throw in a set of dog sheet stock 2.06 valved peanut port heads. I say dog sheet because of the lack of flow for a motor this big. As choked down as they are on this size inch motor, the fricking thing still made 521hp and almost 600 ft lbs of TQ. That is insain. I just picked up my 4.250 crank yesterday. With my ported 781s on either 2.19 or 2.25 valves, I should be closer to the 600hp mark!
