If I recall, there is a small difference from the 68 and newer rear ends compared to the '67 and older. I pulled a rear from a 1971 C10 and Suburban with the intent of putting one of them in my '65. As stated, if it is coil spring, its a bolt in, no problem. If it is leaf spring, I don't know for sure. Come to find out, the 1971 truck and burb are about 1~1-1/2 inches wider on each side than the '65 rear.

You could get a 5x5 bolt pattern rear on the 1971 suburban, and I think it was 1972 for the C10, hope someone can confirm that. The Impala SS of era 1996'ish had 5x5 bolt pattern to. Then there is Ford 9" and for that you'd have to do some searching in this forum for that information.
