By law you are supposed to run a plate from the year of the vehicle (1969 in your case). I can send you a copy of the law when I get home tonight, just send me a reminder if you don't mind.

With that said, I have a 1969 car plate on my truck and have never gotten pulled over for it. I keep a copy of the law and the real plate in my glovebox.
