what happens with pre-flattened paint is the clear coat will float. So you get one strip of flat and the other is glossy, causing tiger stripes. I went through this 10 years ago when I painted my 72 with a flattened 2 stage satin black. I ended up shooting the entire truck 4 different times before I was satisfied with the end result. The key is the proper amount of overlap, and keeping that gun a perfect 90 degrees to the surface you are spraying. It's such a pain in the ass, I don't know why I'm going to put myself through this again. hahaha I just love the look of a suede paint job.
