Hhhmmm........I may have found something that explains my dilemma.

Check out the diagrams I found online............

My ignition switch is a repro V8 style that fits 55-59 pickups. The terminals on the back have BAT/ACC/SOL/IGN1/IGN2 I noticed that some other ignition switches later on had BAT/ACC/SOL/IGN/GRD. I am wondering since mine is an early style reproduction that using a jumper between IGN1 & IGN2 is really the way to make it work.
