It costs 35 bucks to bolt the ls engine to the th350. You don't have to use an electronic trans with an ls engine.
You would be much farther ahead if you were to just get a complete engine with vortec heads in the first place. It will have a roller cam. and be a lot more reliable. I would completely skip the idea of the 1st generation flat tappet cam crate engine.
