Slick, Have you gotten any real estimates for how much all of the repairs would cost? I know it's a pain in the ass, but you may have to drag the truck to a couple of shops (and I'd go to the 3 best in town), get real estimates from each, and take those back to ACI. I'm sure they'll be at least triple that pathetic check they cut you.
I do see your point as well. The check was never cashed and it was disputed, but it would take alot more than triple to even begin to build or replace my truck. $40k is what it was insured for. It may be an uphill battle but it is one that I am prepared to fight.....without a lawyer. It will pay off eventually. I did get some advice from a old hot rodder, he got his own appraiser for around $300 and that helped loads he said. As for real estimates, yes. One shop as of right now, but if it takes 2 or 3 I'm willing.
