The hard way
I bent up a section to the right dimensions, a little longer than I needed, then I cut a series of notches in the flange so I could bend it one way or the other. I clamped to the old piece to get the shape, and then tacked all those little cuts on the flange to lock in that curve.
So, having the shrinker would have saved me about 45 minutes worth of effort AND made a nicer patch, but where there's a will, there's a way!
