I slid mine in with the end closest to the center first and slid it past it's position so I could swing in the side closest to the passenger side. I installed the VA box the same way the factory box was installed in my truck, with the bottom portion being sandwiched between the lid hinge and the lip for the dash and the sides and top are behind the lip for the dash. I didn't have to drill any holes and I used the factory hardware except for the 2 side screws which were missing anyways. I snapped a few pics. Hope it helps.
