I have never messed with the integrated heads, always been steered away. I hear the later blocks will take an earlier head ['60s + '70s].

That's a regular 2BBL from a V-8 with an adapter plate. I was on a budget and just used what I had available. It ran fine and I never got around to putting a Holly 390 on it which was the plan. I am going to keep this new one stock as far as carburation goes. I'll probably do a marine or RV cam and that's it when I dig into it. for now if it ain't broke, I'll focus on other stuff the truck needs
