I have a painted single bend shifter, and if I was to guestimate, if you straightened out a double bend shifter, it would be too long, unless you like it that way. Also, the first bend down by the floor may have to be straightened a little too to aim the upper portion properly (and not have it hit the transfercase stick when you shift into reverse).
