Yesterday I visited Hadrian's wall, (built by the Romans to mark the edge of thier empire just over 2000 years ago), with my wife Shelly, son Jake and dog Toby. It's a great place to go for a walk but boy was it cold and foggy. Anyway thought you might appreciate the name of two places along the wall.
Apparently the names go back to the Battle of Hexham (during the War of the Roses) in the 1400's when it was agreed by the Yorkshire foot soldiers that one inn on the military road had stronger ale than another because it was brewed twice.
