Yes, the Old Air kit provides a bracket and microswitch that mounts to the back side of the factory controller that is activated by moving the temp slide control to the cold side. This is what activates the a/c compressor unless you add another switch to override the microswitch and allow the compressor to operate with the temp set to other than full cold.
