Re: 1949 Chevy 3600 into a daily driver

Quick test drive tonight on some back roads. Truck rides great at a lower ride height. No bumpsteer which was a concern with this cross member.

Still chasing some issues.

Intermittent loss of fuel pressure. Truck died at a stop sign. Started right back up.......went through the intersection and pulled over. Popped the hood and noticed the clear fuel filter is only 1/2 full and the pressure gauge reads zero. This has happened before. Not sure if my Mec pump is going or I am getting some obstruction in the bottom of the tank.

Motor does not run as good I had hoped. Sounds mean idling, but really lacks some get up and go. Not sure if it is timing or??? I keep thinking back to the fact that I changed out the original timing cover with built in timing tab, for a new style with a bolt on timing tab. Wonder if I am actually timing at TDC.

Only complaint about the chassis and crossmember is the turning radius is a joke. Toe is set, as well as 2.5 degrees of caster. Goes down the road straight and does not pull.
