I'll call Mo-Ma Manufacturing this week. I replaced my cable and had to cut the grommet like you say, I hated doing it. This is a nice opportunity to do it correct. I'll talk to them about sending my cable for reference of length and fittings as well as a new grommet to build the new cable around.
