If a gap is too wide I have seen a couple times welding a length of welding rod onto the edge of the door to fill the gap, welded on both sides of the rod, a lengthy process and you must control your heat. its a pretty common thing to do but I think it may be better accomplished with a tig welder.
I believe that gap from the floor on bottom picture 401 (2 arrows) is normal.
