The insurance company (of the trucking company) wants to pay me $5500. and then put the truck up for salvage auction. They have no idea how rare this truck is in any form. I do not want to lose this truck to a salvage company in Iowa. Any suggestions on what to do?

I bought my truck out of CA last year and had it shipped to MI. I did insure it when I bought it though. I have Hagerty and just paid my renewal yesterday. I noticed that Hagerty's (I would think if you already had vehicles insured) gives you automatic ins. on it the day you buy it.
