Looking for larger wheel studs

My '69 C2500 has 8-lugs & many of you might think that is enough strength. But, I have it in my head that 1/2" thick studs just aren't strong enough. I've been looking at other 3/4-ton trucks in order to see if they have larger studs that will fit into the current axles. The 1/2" studs have a smaller knurl size than any truck I've checked with thicker studs. I've been looking for 9/16" wheels studs, but they obviously won't fit in the 1/2" stud holes. So, other than swapping axles, does anyone have any good ideas? Part of this question revolves around you 3/4-ton owners who have to use spacers/adapters to run newer wheels on your trucks.
