I like the aluminum based body fillers they make now to ward off cracking and moisture seepage but that stuff is difficult to sand after it hardens. Its been about 5 years since I did my novice job with a small wire feed welder and it still is doin fine. I always spray a little rubberized undercoating behind my welds if I can because my work is ugly.
