I talked with a tech from Scoggin Dickey and he thought my brother could go to the L31 Vortec which has 250hp and 330tq. He would have to purchase a manifold that would accept his existing original TBI. Headers might add a few more hp. The current motor I believe is 195 so it would be an upgrade.
I think he should go with a 383 and add a Holley or Edelbrock FI system.
