I meant to get back to Gram Parsons. I never was a fan of the whole west coast, laid back country rock thing, probably because that's where I was living at the time and the '60s thing was about rebelling so I rebelled against all the crap I was being told to like, for no other reason than to do so. All my dad listened to was the country western of his generation, and the last thing I wanted to hear was the rock & roll guys trying to play it. I got over it, though.
It was the Byrds that finally done it, but not the line-up with David Crosby and not the line-up with Gram Parsons. This album: Untitled

I loved the rock & roll, especially the album-side version of 8 miles high and I tolerated the country stuff. But good music is good music, and finally I started getting it. Roger McGuinn said Untitled was the album he wished they'd made with Gram Parsons, but they parted ways after Sweethearts of the Rodeo. While the genre is not my favorite, I do enjoy it now.
