It's not recommended to cut the rear springs, although a few have done it. Reason being is there's a pigtail on each end of the spring that you need to bolt the springs in with. Rear drop springs are reasonably priced so I would advice taking that route. If you want to see what the drop looks like before you choose which springs, you could always pull the springs out and then jack the truck up from the bumper to the height you like best and measure for the appropriate springs.

The front is a different story. Many have cut the front springs. One coil cut out correlates to roughly a 2" drop. Most go up to 1 coil cut out max, but a few have pushed it to 1.5 and even 2 coils.
