AtomicYJ, if it makes you feel any better, the tire was worn out anyway. (it's definitely worn out now!)

Special-K the tire industry has been discussing making mandatory expiration dates on tires for a long time now. The last I read, the consensus was 10 years. It'll be a nightmare if they ever do it, they probably will.
