I'd think the switch swap or push button might depen a lot on what condition the switch in it now is in. The push button is the simple under 10 buck fix that also acts to keep someone from accidentally starting the truck if the key is in it as when you are working on it in the garage or driveway and there are others including kids around.

On the front crossmember, I am wondering why you would remove that to install an independent crossmember. Most after market crossmembers clear the stock front one with plenty of room. Square tube installed in it's place at the front? Instructions from the front suspension builder? Curiosity has me a bit there.
