If you want to keep the stock look and haven't done any mods then hang on to it even if you do change to paper filter as mentioned above. The paper filters are just more convenient to use even if you have to buy a housing for it.

My 68 GMC has a 250 six and it had an oil bath filter. I removed it and replaced it with a paper filter but didn't hang on to the old oil one. Wish I had just for nostalgia. Also, the housings for the single throat carb looks anemic.
