We used to do stupid stuff like racing from light to light on Van Nuys Blvd, and I know plenty of people who drag raced on Raymer St.
I was on that scene in the early '70s until I joined the US Navy in late '72. I used to do it occasionally after I got off work from the shop I worked at in North Hollywood, in '76 after I got out of said Navy, in my '66 Le Mans that had a Ram Air III 400 in it. A real putter car, for sure.
Cruising is totally outlawed on VNB, last I heard.
