Isaiah, I have a 292 with Webers. I fought all kinds of leaks with the manifold and rebuild kits for my Rochester. The Webers are great. In know you said you looked at that application already and maybe the 235 or the specific Weber you are looking at are different than the 292 and my 38s, but my Weber chokes(electric) face to the front and my linkage is on the passenger side of the carb. I made my own linkage and it runs straight back to the firewall and connects directly to the gas pedal. It is not the most professional looking but it works pretty well. It was super easy to build and connect.
I can snap some photos if you think it might help. I have a thread on here asking about Clifford headers and it has a photo of my original setup. If my linkage looks like yours it should be simple.
