I think you have yourself a great motor there, the dyno numbers are perfect for these old trucks. I prefer a roller cam but that's no biggie as long as you use the right oil and keep it changed.
To me 300-350 hp with a lot of low end torque is perfect for these heavy trucks. It makes them really fun to drive but not over bearing where you are always on edge.
