I wouldn't measure the angle on the top of the motor. You need the angle at the trans tail shaft. Then you match that angle at the rear end pinion. 3 degrees down and 3 degrees up is good. Often you have to tweek it after all the weight is on the wheels. You can do that on the trans crossmember or angled shims on the spring perches. If you draw an imaginary line back from the trans output shaft, and another line forward from the rear pinion, the two lines should be parallel. Google image driveline angles and get some good explanation.
