I installed some outers after reading this post. Got a set from Steele. As far as I know, they only come straight, no bend at end. I followed the bend of my new inner felt and made some relief cuts on the lower edge to create a bend. Im sure leaving them straight or adding a bend has no effect on intended use but I like the look of the bend to kinda match OE. I attached with plastic hardware like the OP did. Plastic hardware seams to have a slightly smaller head which reduced the chances of it rubbing on the lower channel when glass is all the way up. Very happy with the outcome.
