Just a side note. They help take the stress of the trans when parked on hills & keep the shift linkage stripping or have to adjusting more often.
I run with and with out. But after parking on any slops try to in shift leaver would make the shift linkage slip or strip and need tighten more often.
Or drive around to find flat spot parking. lol

Was a 77 454 w/308 gear. Taken out 550 lbs. up front with motor clip change.
