Building the engine rather than buying makes me quite proud to put in to my '64. I can't wait!
The actually problem is the tremendous piston speed (a result of the 4.25" stroke ), and piston/con rod weight combined with the strength of the stock rods, and the fact that the rod journal is 2.5" dia/mains 3.0".
Not necessarily sucking the pan dry. But...you ain't racing !
